Tax Refund Schedule Dates for 2013
On January 8, 2013, the IRS stated that E-file will open January 30, 2013. This date is a week later than they had originally anticipated. The IRS claims they will be capable of processing over 120 million tax returns.
This includes those who have been impacted by the AMT, the deduction expense for educators, the higher education fees for tuition and fees and the deduction for state and local taxes. The IRS states that even with the delay in processing e-filed tax returns, taxpayers should not anticipate their refund to be delayed.
With that said, there are some things you can do to avoid any delay in your return.
The most important thing is to file now and not to wait. The sooner that you get your tax return in, the sooner you will get your refund back.
By using electronic filing and direct deposit, this will assure that your refund is processed quickly, or at least quicker than those who don’t use e-filing or direct deposit. More than likely, if you use these methods, you will get your refund in less than three weeks.
Tax laws change every year so it is important to ask experts in taxes to get answers to your questions. Most places such as Turbo Tax have experts on hand to answer your tax questions for free. Most people who work as a tax preparer are either tax attorneys, certified public accountants. That way you know you are talking to a professional in the field.
You don’t want to wait until January 30thin order to file your 2012 income tax returns. Waiting to file will only delay the amount of time you have to wait for your refund to arrive. Filing your tax return nowgets you ahead of the line since a great deal of people will wait to file.
